So What? Productions is a new independent theatre co-operative, founded by a group of students from the Sydney University Dramatic Society (SUDS), committed to making the forceful argument that ignoring our shared humanity is no longer good enough.

The So What? ensemble believes that student theatre must be a site of learning for both actors and audiences: we aim to create performance opportunities for ourselves which may not be replicated in our professional lives. For our creative teams, this means unique interactions with important texts and the biggest questions for our lives. For our audiences, we aim to create a space of enquiry in which dialogue with text and content is an integral part of the theatrical experience.

We embrace the ambition of young theatre artists embarking on their varied careers to produce theatre that is challenging, literate and above all passionately executed. A So What? Production is a talking point, a stimulant to everyone involved to sit up and take notice.
