History

So What? Productions was founded in 2008 for the production of The Laramie Project to coincide with the tenth anniversary of the writing of the play at the Newtown Theatre in November 2008.

This special anniversary production of The Laramie Project was a restaging and revival of the 2008 Major Production of the Sydney University Dramatic Society (SUDS). SUDS April production of The Laramie Project in the Downstairs Theatre of the Seymour Centre was warmly received, attracting sell-out audiences in the play’s second week run. The April production was jointly launched with Pride Week 2008 at The University of Sydney. This show was originally performed by the Sydney University Dramatic Society with the generous support of The University of Sydney Union.

So What? presented the Sydney première in conjunction with the worldwide première of The Laramie Project: Ten Years Later in October 2009.
